Required for all bookings

Security deposit

How it works, how much it is, and when it is refunded.

Why is it required?

The security deposit protects the property against accidental damage during your stay. It is not an extra charge: if there is no damage, nothing is ever charged. You can pay it in two ways: in person on arrival with a credit card, or online via Stripe — for guests doing the online check-in it is one step of the flow. How the online deposit works: your card is stored securely by Stripe, with no charge and no hold at that moment; the amount is held the day before arrival and released within 48 hours of check-out. You authorise a possible damage charge up to 48 hours after departure.

Offline — credit card on arrival

1

Present yourself to reception with your Credit Card (no Debit Card, no PostePay).

2

The receptionist will fill in an authorisation form which you will sign.

3

The form is kept until your departure and then destroyed.

4

No pre-authorisation on your card: it is a paper guarantee only.

You can change your mind and switch to the online payment method at any time from your Guest Area.

Online — card as guarantee (Stripe)

PCI DSS Level 1 Certified
1

Log in to your Guest Area with your booking number and email.

2

Select "Security deposit" and choose the online method.

3

Stripe stores your card securely — no charge and no hold now: the amount is held the day before arrival and released within 48 hours of check-out.

4

You immediately see the “Card saved” confirmation in your Guest Area.

Your card details are never shared with us. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the same standard used by banks.

Amounts by property

The exact amount is shown on each apartment listing. As a guide:

Studio€ 200
Apartments€ 300

When is it refunded?

1

Staff carry out a property inspection within 2 hours of check-out.

2

If there is no damage:

  • For the offline deposit: the paper authorisation form is destroyed within 48 hours of departure.
  • For the online deposit (Stripe): the hold is one-off and lapses by itself (if still active at departure, it is released within 48 hours). No renewals, no further movements: if there is no damage, your card is never charged.
3

If there is damage, the guest will be sent photographic documentation and a document detailing the damage costs before any deduction is made.

What happens if there is damage?

If damage is found, we will contact you within 48 hours of departure with photographic documentation and a cost breakdown. You will be able to dispute or agree on the amount before any deduction is made. Any deduction is always proportionate to the actual damage and never exceeds the deposit amount.
